The original design was so good that not much has changed over the years since the first one was made. People like to make their golf carts look a bit special by decorating them in their own style. I have even seen a cart decorated to look like a briefcase though why I have no idea. People enjoy standing out from the crowd of similar looking carts and there's nothing wrong with that.
You will see golf carts in use at many different types of venue and if you see them at your local stadium they are still called golf carts, for some strange reason. Being a cheap and flexible vehicle they are often used to move people and equipment around theme parks and other large sites such as factories and utility sites.
They don't get a lot of appreciation but the golf cart is a terrific little machine. There are few other vehicles that make such a good used buy and they can be used for a lot of other purposes. If you do some searching online you can find websites listing golf carts being offered for sale.
